WIDTY: MAY 31, 2008: Dinner at Harry's Bar

My day started a little late so I took a cab to work today again.
Not bad, cost only $7, so that's like 2 lunches for 30mins of extra sleep. ZzzZZZzzzz...
I had lunch at my regular chyepeng stall.
I was tempted to go buy another 17 tins of Eclipse for $50 to redeem the $20 voucher...
but the queue was just too damn long.
(note this is only like 11.30am...)
I was also bothered by other things like...
I had 3 $10 vouchers (with min $30 purchase) to use up by today at RSH.

So I shopped and I shopped and I shopped. (3 times only)
1. I bought a Nike basketball singlet, which til today I still don't know why I bought it.
At a M size, it hangs a little too long and the cutoff goes down a little too low.
(but cheap mah. so I wasn't thinking right. about $20)
2. This Adidas top is my favourite buy. (about $22)
It fits quite well and looks quite good, if I suck in my tummy (a lot).
I wore it to PH on Sunday and many people said I looked quite good in it.
as compared to the usual drabby drabs that I usually wear.
3. I bought a pair of Nike training gloves. (L)
At $29.90, it's not enough to use the voucher so I topped up with
a Mitre whistle. (centre)($5.90 down to $2.50)
I have absolutely absolutely absolutely no clue why I bought it
(my other option is a pair of neon yellow shoelaces that costs $1)
(which is soooo seconday school in the 80s, I mean 90s).
plus I didn't know whistles can possibly cost $5.90.
It must be ergonomic or super powerful blast that deafens offending red card soccer players or whatever.

Saturdays are always fun because the place is just filled with
throngs and throngs of athletes who just finished training at the Kallang River.
(read: DBers.)
Look!! Matching Crumpler Bags!!
I used to have a hunky friend jog all the way from East Coast to Clementi and then to Suntec, just to see me.
but I exaggerate.
The last time I "saw" him, his arm was in a sling.
I have only one thing to say...keep your feet firmly rooted to the ground. ;P

I was sent on a special important mission in the afternoon
to see some important clients to clinch a deal.
I was ushered into their huge office to give a presentation.
They obviously liked the shirt that I was wearing 3 days in a row.
Needless to say, if you've watched The Devil Wears Prada, I'm due for a promotion soon. ;)

Many people came to visit me today.
1. This one on the way to the gym, I think he asked if we sell newspapers.
Do I look like the gana guni man to you?
(go gym need to carry Agnes B bag meh?)
2. These 2 at least made a big purchase.
I gave them a 1-for-1 Gloria Jeans coffee coupon for free. ;)
3. This one is my BMT section mate.
During that time, we haven't come out of the locker yet.
Now, he's out EVERY WEEKEND!
This is the very nice, touching one who cried when I got helivac out of Tekong
(but that's a story for another day.)
very Don't-Cry-For-Me-Argentina right! ;P

By dinnertime, I was already braindead, with so many requests and things to do.
Walking zombie already.
I went with my colleague for dinner at Marina Cafe.
(albeit rather unwillingly, but I was too tired to put up a struggle).
She had the mee goreng.
1. I had to look away while taking this picture.
I felt fat just looking at it. JUST JOKING!!
(ok ok, I self-bitch ok...."but but but you're fat!")
2. She's obviously not a very good photo subject.
3. I bought another colleague half priced GJ coffee. some hazelnut lattee thingie.
sorry. I think I'm still a kopitiam kopipeng person.

She brought me to the fountain area to smoke, where they were having the light show.
In her exact words, she said," later, you see!
They'll spray the water so high it will even reach the top of the towers."
Quite amazing right!!
but this is what she meant lah. must watch from a distance.
(well, she's a few words short of a paragraph lah, pages short of a chapter lah).

So I was off duty already and went shopping again.
I got a call from my colleague to say I've got friends in the store.
I asked how did she know it's my friends.
I won't say that she said lah. but if you see Edric, you'll know.
Anyway he asked me to show him The Last Empress by Anchee Min.
I spent 10mins of my previous offduty time, checking the computer and searching the shelves for it.
I thought he wanted to buy it but he just wanted to show his friend
that he actually have read it and can read) AMAZING!
(interestingly another customer asked for the book today and so I knew exactly where it was.)

I went to Harry's Bar after that to meet wpe and caven83 for dinner.
Got one last voucher to use lah. $30 off a min $60 order.

wpe showed us the most interesting Japanese made erm..mints.
These Japanese are amazing, they think of everything!
It even comes with paper so you can spit into them when you're done.

So I had the lambloin chops with mint sauce and they both had the salmon fillet.
We shared the Tandoori chicken pizza.
Not bad. quite good.
ok. tired. end of entry.
