WIDTY: JUN 07, 2008: THE MORNING AFTER, PRADA SALE
It's always a pleasure feeding the cats in the morning.
When they line up for food, parallel parked neatly, well, not so neatly in this picture. ;)
For newcomers, the black cat (centre) is Ash, the white cat (facing camera) is Hugo,
and the smallest grey one (extreme left) is called Gucci.
They are very very friendly,
most of our friends who have come over to stroke them escape with minor scratches only,
none requiring any stitches. (JUST JOKING!!)
We went downstairs for erm, tea actually. We had a very late night.
Mil bought for us the peanut mee chang kueh. VERY YUMMY!
It's Fabian's favourite! bursting with goodness!
We went shopping at Paragon, since they are having some fashion sale.
I'm quite fascinated with their ad, with the huge shopping bag,
so I took a picture of it.
(then again, I take pictures of EVERYTHING, so I'm a fascinating boy)
Let me share with you a little-known secret kangtao. very good one!
Contrary to popular belief, there IS free parking on Sat afternoons.
UOB card members can exchange for free after5pm parking at Park Hotel.
So technically you can park the entire day and exchange for the per-entry coupon
AFTER 5pm, at the hotel conceirge.
We used to have a friend working here,
but he's graduated and he's now flying the friendly skies.
Nowadays, we shortcut through YSL and get dirty looks,
but we just pretend it's him. ;)
Causing a commotion.
Long queues of people outside the designer stores.
*roll eyes*
VERY LONG QUEUES AT GUCCI!
OMG! 70% off!! (you wish!)
Excuse me, we do not shop at Gucci, we shop only at Prada! HRMPH!
Anyway, it was one queue we couldn't jump so we joined the queue lor.
I was tempted to go up to the security guard and say,
"excuse me, do I look like I came here to queue?"
"can you let THE REAL BUYERS go in"
"tales of your incompetence do not interest me"
(quick quick!! which movie is that from!!)
Anyway, I didn't go in with them, I'm an Adidas person.
So when I was smoking outside, I caught some people filming for a show.
So I joined in lor...
SNAP SNAP SNAP!
SNAP SNAP SNAP!
SNAP SNAP SNAP!
I met the newbie Fabulous Sunday doorbitch on a date.
His mutant power is constant vibration.
I cannot even get a decent shot!!
They took so long at Prada that I went to buy some food,
3 sticks of ToriQ.
(I know, quite boring. it was a dry day lah.)
We went to Planet Traveller to pick up his new trolley.
Trolley Dolly now mah. batteries and accessories not included.
geddit geddit??!!
We went to Sushi Tei for dinner.
Mil and Fabian are big fans!
Perpetually got queue and perpetually got 30mins wait.
They were having a Early Summer Promotion with very interesting dishes.
Actually, this blogspot format is quite different from LJ hor.
I used to post 3 pictures in a row, instead of one by one.
Anyway this is the obligatory table setting picture.
Fabian knows the menu by hard already, so we had our usualy.
The Sushi Tei salad with the Sushi Tei sauce.
(actually I have no idea what it's called, but very nice can already.
must go and copy the name the next time)
This is the Sushi Tei sauce.
I swear, it's really called the Sushi Tei sauce, very sour and tangy.
Mil always looks forward to this. ;)
From the Summer menu, the summer egg in miso sauce.
The yolk was very orangey and tasty.
When I was talking to some Indian workers before, they refused to eat Singaporean eggs
because SG eggs have no taste in the yolk due to the chemicals,
(though technically most of our eggs are Malaysian eggs.)
Anyway, this is obviously a Japanese egg.
It costs $2.20
We had the *fingertwist* kanninabe paper bowl soup thingie
but it was very funny, cos the waitress said that the aircon vent at our table is too strong
so the fish will never get cooked.
so she got us this humongous portable cooker instead.
Imagine this, barbeequed soup.
This is the green tea soba set with pan seared salmon and prawn roe.
Mil usually doesn't like cold food but she enjoyed this.
Another Summer special, highly recommended.
Pasta With Soft Shell Crab with Cream Miso Sauce.
very good!! we almost ordered another one, but we were quite full.
Fabian's usual favourite.
The chicken don set, without onions.
We went back to play with the NCN (new cute nephew)!
He's very cute now!
I always ask Bil which ToysRUs they bought him from?
I want to go get oone too!!!
Anyway, he has this fascniation with electrical stuff,
stressing us to no end.
On off on off the light.
On off on off the fan.
We used to turn off the wall socket switch
so he won't fiddle with the fan controls.
NOW he knows how to toggle with the socket switch
if the fan controls don't work.
FAINT!
Bil bought Durians. faint!
calories overload!
Purchases for the day. ;)

WIDTY: JUN 06, 2008 NOTHING MUCH AT ALL
Most of you know, as part of my job, I wrap up gifts for people.
So this guy bought the SATC Movie Book so I thought I got another SATC groupie.
And I chatted him up.
"excellent choice! did you enjoy the movie?"
"the movie? I hated it. My wife insisted on watching it. wasted 2 hours of my life!"
"ah! really? I thought it was quite good. So why are you buying the book?"
"oh. It's for my wife. She really loved the movie"
Sigh. Sooo sweet right! and who says real (reel) romance is dead...
At some places, you can even buy it and get it giftwrapped. ;)
This was lunch.
Sometimes, I'm sooo braindead, I just don't want to think what to eat.
One of my colleagues alerted me to this article in a magazine.
She actually wrote it!!
Sean Kingston no less.
YOU GO GIRL!
The day dragged on, with an endless flow of customers.
Our afternoon caffeine boost!
Cocoa Loco and I-can't-remember-what-this-is....
Mysterious post-exam SMU student.
(wearing his heart on his sleeve, Who's Bruce??!!)
contemplating a trip to China.
(but but but they're all coming over here!)
I went straight home after that.
This is the construction site from my bedroom,
They're building 5 40-storey blocks which will obstruct my Orchard Road view. ;(
I had mysterious visitors later to drag me out for dinner.
Smoking at my void deck, what will the neighbours think??!!
But I have no complaints!
It's not EVERY NIGHT cuties with beeg beeg arms come to visit.
We went to the Margaret Drive Hawker Centre to eat.
My 1st-timer friend was fascinated by the long queue for char kway teow!
That stall is still lost in the last century.
$2 for a plate, self-service and a pair of chopsticks.
apparently there's still business for lard laden carbohydrates.
We had 4 cups of teh peng.
terrible! very diluted and no teh taste at all.
and we had 4 cups. pengz.
We ordered from our favourite stall that we have an on-off relationship with.
I had to tell them I didn't really go to JB to find a wife to get married.
(HA HA! INSIDE JOKE!)
We ordered the salted vegetables soup.
Very kianchye soup for the soul!
This is the salted fish fried rice.
It's very yummy but I swear my friend added extra oil to make us all fat.
Fried fish slices with kailan!
Prawn and Tofu with Egg on Hotplate.
Heavenly food, everyone gave their seal of approval.
Note, this stall is sooo good the wait is at least 30-45mins on weekends.
Please go early.
After that, we were quite bored so we just went back to watch TV. ;)
This is called a close up.
geddit geddit??!! ;P

JUN 05, 2008: NMT HAPPY MEAL TOY NO.3 &4
I woke up in the morning to say goodbye to my Gucci cat.
He's grown very big already hor! since the last time all of you saw him.
I went to work late. There's a car show in the other atrium, selling Suzuki cars.
So *ahem* if you wanna take a look...
I bought 4D for my boss today, who's out of town.
So along the way, I tried the $1 scratch and win card.
I keep reading DRAG QUEEN on this coupon.
(and picturing Leonard with the flags. Hurry!! I have to scratch that image out of my head!)
Zenhiao came to have lunch with me, and we were deciding Crystal Jade XiaoLongBao or Crystal Jade Kitchen.
And then we walked past McD's and saw NEW TOYS!!
so we had 2 kid's meals.
YAY! got the praying mantis and the crane already! very cute!!
Zenhiao ACing with the toys. He's thinking of starting a collection again!
It is not by sheer coincidence that he is holding it by his nipples.
The aircon was very very cold.
oh oh oh!! He was complaining about the mini burger.
The moment he opened it, he said, "wah! need microscope to see the chicken patty!"
"there's no truth in advertising!" *points to huge burger on placemat!*
I introduced him to the wonders to gambling under the guise of "scratch and win".
I had to explain the rules and that you can scratch everything!
no need to match 3 only or whatever.
Starting on the slippery slope...and they say the way to hell is paved with good intentions and happy meal toys.
When I got back, my colleague shows me this really cool globe that floats!
WOW! I'm soooooooo amazed! but its quite cool lah.
GREAT BIRTHDAY GIFT! (shameless plug "20% til end of June!)
My colleague had a bad day so I bought her a cocoa loco or something.
With a 1-for-1 coupon lah.
(the lady gave me a stack today, valid til end june. ;P)
Our other friend stopped by today, before this club opened.
Super multi-tasker lor.
can read comic, sms, eat chocolate and pose for picture all at once.
Reading Buddha Comic somemore.
He asked me for Nirvana. Sorry we don't sell washout grunge bands that smells like teen spirit.
I went to St George's Road for the not-so-famous chicken briyani again.
$4.50 sia, not too bad. I had good company though.
I ran into Leonard in the gym changing room. And he was reading this book.
Talk about locker room politics.
Sooo apparently Leonard is an avid fan of history. American history, he clarifies, not his dating history, which would pale any encyclopedia set to shame.
WOW!! truly still water runs deep.
but still empty vessels make the most noise.
Anyway, Leonard, who's rooting for Hillary, declares that the plan is for the Democrats supporting her to jump ship and vote for McCain so that he'll win and Hillary would have an earlier chance of running again, as opposed to Obama winning and possibly being in the White House for 8 years. Impressed!
I went home to find this whole carton of dumplings.
I told my sister," don't sabo me le, I just got back from the gym!"
she said its kee dumplings (vegetarian) cos her muslim boyfriend's jewish boss had to buy dumplings for everyone so decided on vegetarian ones lor.
What a waste of good money. :(
Ok! That's all. This link will bring you back to Kansas.
